Myšák confectionery has opened at Prague Castle, in the National Gallery of Schwarzenberg Palace. The third location of the popular Prague business serves the classics guests know well from the shops in Vodičkova street and Holešovice Market - traditional Czech desserts made from quality ingredients prepared according to First Republic recipes and a fine breakfast menu.

Myšák: Pastry shops on both banks of the Vltava River

Lákavě lesklý čokoládový Cronut, zdobený hoblinkami, právě ochutnává žena.
Welcome to the sweet factory, led by Lukáš Pohl and his team. Each dessert is made to be finished in two bites, so you can taste more than one. At our confectioneries in Vodičkova and Holešovice, you will find traditional Czech delicacies such as Indian cakes, cream rolls, and cream puffs. Accompany them with speciality coffee, prepared by our baristas, and grab some baked goods to go, too.
Take your pick

As in the other Myšák establishments, executive pastry chef Lukáš Pohl and his team are behind the production of cakes and desserts. The production of the sweets here is the responsibility of head pastry chef Anežka Janurová, and the breakfast menu is run by chef Filip Hrušovský. The interior of the shop is the work of architect Tereza Froňková.

Czech desserts from honest ingredients

The heart of the menu are, as always, classic Czech desserts from the workshop of Lukáš Pohl, who defined the sweet offering of Myšák. Under his guidance, the classics of Myšák's menu - cream puffs, traditional kremrole and laskonky - are made with butter, eggs and cream from Czech producers, quality nuts from Italy, seasonal fruits and selected chocolate. The castle location also includes open kitchen - desserts are created in front of the guests' eyes on the spot.

Anežka Janurová oversees the confectionery production at Myšák - together with Pohl and his team, she develops the sweet part of the menu and brings to Myšák leavened kolache and other Czech desserts that are based on tradition and reflect the current season.

Located in the neighbourhood of Kuchyň restaurant, you can also visit for speciality coffee, or enjoy breakfast. The menu includes Prague eggs, omelettes, but also Vodičkova Street stalwarts such as buns with vanilla cream, sweet pastries, and filled croissants or sandwiches. A new feature is the sweet St. Stephen's omelette - a baked sponge cake with whipped egg whites, made directly in the pan.

Those who just want to stop for a moment on the way to the Castle will appreciate the option to take away - not only will they pack all the desserts in a box, but you can also purchase your favourite pre-prepared products. There's nougat, brittle meringues, premium pistachios from Bronte in Italy, and other sweet treats.

Interior and design

Similarly to the Myšák locations in Vodičkova street and Holešovice Market Hall, architect Tereza Froňková is behind the interior design.

Here, she worked with the historical legacy of first republican confectionery, bringing in elements that are characteristic of Myšák - mahogany wood, marble café tables or bentwood TON chairs.

At first glance, two monumental chandeliers with glass mouse figurines catch the eye. They have their origins in the marzipan figurines that once made František Myšák's confectionery famous.

Warmer shades of brick and old pink were chosen for the interior, appearing for example on the lining of the counter with a display case made of Breccia Pernice marble - a stone quarried in the Verona area since the 1920s.

Inside, the patisserie production area and seating for guests meet in one large room. In good weather, a pleasant seating area right in the historic courtyard of the palace offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Hradčany Square.

Stop by on your way up to the castle, and enjoy a coffee or an indulgent dessert.
