The best of Kantýna for the pantry and the fridge
The master butchers at Kantýna have managed to preserve exactly what we all love about this place - meaty goodness and honest taste of the ingredients - in a simple jar.
Lard heaven: You can choose from plain or smoked lard, or plain cracklings from Preštice black-pied pork or the smoked version. Or, reach for ready-made crackling spread and just add prepared Preštice lard.
Delicacies and flavourings: Pick up coffee sauce, strong demi-glace or truffle mayonnaise to serve with meat at home.
When you're feeling peckish: Pick up duck, chicken or liver pate, or the famous drowned pork. Alternatively, take home a packet of pickled hermelin cheese. And don't forget some pickled vegetablestoo!
Ready-made sauces and gravies
The counter at Kantýna is also home to products from other Ambiente businesses.
Sauces from Lokál: Just open, pour into a saucepan and heat. There is classic sirloin sauce, tomato, beef and Szeged goulash, chicken on paprika or stewed kidneys. Soups include beef broth with liver dumplings, goulash and the popular tripe. Don't forget to add to your basket a little or even large jar of mustard!
Sauces from Pizza Nuova: For a quick Italian dinner just boil pasta and add ragu bolognese, Ragù napoletano or sugo all'amatriciana.
Classics from Naše maso: Their famous luncheon meat and strong beef broth await you on the shelves. And no weekend trip is complete without beef or pork jerky in your pocket.
A grain of salt and something sweet at the end
To go with these goodies, of course, you'll need a good slice of bread! That's why you can always find the popular 33 from Eska, or a loaf from U Kalendů on the shelves.
To top it all off, add a pinch of Maldon salt. And if you're after something sweet to go with your bread and butter, try the strawberry and apricot jams from Eska. You can pack them right along with wildflower honey by Alena Kölblová.
So the next time you drop by for tartare or carpaccio, you'd better leave some space in your bag.
