Where to find the best breakfast in Prague: Buffets, tasting menus and brunch

A tasting dinner at Štangl

Štangl
Chef Martin Štangl's Štangl restaurant opened in August 2023, a natural progression from the then Eska. While the bistro and bakery remained on the lower floor of the Karlin house, an evening tasting restaurant opened in the upper space. However, breakfast has historically been a part of this space, so the chefs have decided to return it to the menu.
It's a three-course menu to enjoy on Saturday mornings. The ingredients used by the team to prepare the meals come from from small Czech farmers, breeders and growers. Among the starters you will find fresh cheese from Krasolesí farm, vegetables, pate and fish rillettes. The second course - meat, eggs, or porridge - you can order as you like.
The breakfast ends with a sweet course. You can choose between two desserts - pancakes with cream and grilled apples on the fire, or a traditional Czech dessert. Breakfast is served with a selection of coffee, fresh juices, kefir, fermented lemonades and breakfast cocktails.
Bockem
Another popular breakfast spot is Bockem Restaurant where you can enjoy a three-course menu and finish off their with their iconic semolina porridge. You can have breakfast or brunch here until 1 pm. The restaurant, whose kitchen is run by chef Ondřej Kynčl, also offers an evening menu.
ZEM Prague
Once a month, breakfast is served by chefs from ZEM restaurant. On the last Sunday of each month, they dedicate the plates to a different theme that connects the courses across the menu.
