From enthusiast to expert: Where to go for a wine tasting in Prague

City Centre
Alma wines
Alma has played host to the greats, including Dominika Černohorská – alias Plenér – and Milan Nestarec. Their restaurant has also put on a dinner with Austrian Gut Oggau.
Vin de Marie
Wine traditions are upheld at Vin de Marie, which operates as a wine shop by day and becomes part of the Marie B restaurant by night. Each month, the wines are selected for tasting by sommelier Petra Vítková according to region, country or variety.
Karlín
Veltlin
Talking wine whilst drinking it is a regular state of affairs at this Karlín establishment. Over the last few months, the bar has also been visited by non-wine producers such as Jiří Sládek with his Métaphore ferment, or representatives from the Landcraft spirits distillery, who guided guests through the flavours of various vermouths.
Enoteca
A pocket of Italy at the heart of Karlín, Enoteca is a new addition to the Prague food scene. On their shelves you’ll find wines from all over Italy, and even a few samples from Sicily. A glowing example of friendship between the owners and winemakers.
Prague 7 & Troja
Winegeek
Living proof of the fact that even a small space can hold a spectacular event. The Winegeek shop, tucked away on Řezáčovo náměstí, is a steady favourite for those looking to pick up a bottle for home, or grab a quick drink. A few times throughout the year however, the cosy space is filled with buzz, hosting visits from various winemakers.
Bistro Karel
The popular Bistro Karel expanded their wine repertoire a few months ago – and, in June, held their first tasting to celebrate the arrival of northern Italian winemaker Poderi Cellario to their menu.
